The α-Fe and α-O sites in Fe-zeolites

Redox chemistry with zeolites usually relies on the incorporation of transition metal ions.

It is the goal of this phD to gain deeper insights into the requirements for the chemical environment and composition of these transition metal ions incorporated in the zeolites to achieve useful oxidation catalysis. To analyse this various spectroscopic techniques are used for characterization and synthesis parameters of the cataysts are studied.

The focus is on copper and iron ions in various zeolite topologies using the partial oxidation of methane to methanol as oxidation reaction of primary interest.
