Human genetics in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

To officially launch the Congolese Society for Human Genetics. To officially launch the creation of a Centre for Human Genetics in Kinshasa. To attract the attention of the academic and political authorities to the field of human genetics in DRC and the actual needs. To inform the public at large about the existence of a genetic centre in Kinshasa. To provide state-of-the art lectures on human genetics, with special emphasis on topics of interest to the DRC. To provide a platform for clinicians, researchers with an interest in the field of human and medical genetics from the DRC to share their ideas, projects, observations and results, and promote interaction between them and established geneticist invited to the meeting as well as other stakeholders.
