A mindfulness based intervention for adolescents and young adults after cancer treatment.

This project, sponsored by Reliable Cancer Therapies and in cooperation with KU Leuven, studies the feasibility and effect of a mindfulness based intervention for adolescents and young adults after cancer treatment on psychological parameters. The intervention exists of 8 weekly sessions in group. The aim of the project is to enhance the quality of life of adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer who completed all treatments. The study consists of a randomised controlled trial. One group receives a mindfulness based training, the other is a wait-list control group. Participants will be assessed at baseline, post-intervention, and 3-months post-intervention. Outcomes will be quality of life and symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.
