Francqui chair of Peter J. Diggle (R-8403)

Following a proposal by the Center for Statistics (CenStat) at Hasselt University, Professor Peter J. Diggle (Lancaster University, UK) is recipient of a 2017-2018 Francqui Chair. Professor Diggle will deliver an inaugural lecture on May 18, 2018, a closing lecture on May 25, 2018, and three further lectures on May 22, 23, and 24, 2018. Professor Diggle will address major themes from his research career, about which he has published many articles and several books: longitudinal data analysis, geostatistics, spatial statistics, and time series. The Francqui chair will be coupled with the anniversary celebrations of the Center for Statistics at UHasselt, the Master of Statistics at UHasselt, the VLIR-UOS ICP Program in Biostatistics at UHasselt, and the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics (I-BioStat, UHasselt and KU Leuven). There will be an interuniversity component because further the Master of Statistics at KU Leuven will celebrate its anniversary. Both master programs operate a memorandum of collaboration.
