From Organic Waste Streams to Biostimulants and Biopesticides (BIO2BIO)

Bio2Bio aims to identify molecules in extracts of organic residues that can be used as biostimulants or biopesticides. We want to find at least 1 biostimulant and 1 biopesticide through a wide-spectrum screening platform that includes a series of in vitro /conservatory/field biotoxic. We will also test combinations of extracts and fractions thereof. From at least 1 biostimulant we want to understand the mechanism of action. We will investigate this by analyzing changes in the transcriptome and metabolic of treated plants and conducting a meta-analysis. Of two organic residual flows we will determine how we can valorize them as a whole.
