'Publieke_Salon_Public' is a participatory workshop in Sint-Joost-ten Noode. In consultation with the neighborhood residents, a single living room is designed and built in unused space in the neighborhood. The project is supported by the Faculty of Architecture KU Leuven (Campus Sint Lucas) and GC Ten Noey. A series of workshops at various places in the vicinity forms the basis for a design for a 'Public Salon' These workshops are realized within the GC Ten Noey program and its local partners. 'Publieke_Salon_Public' themes the various residential cultures in a big city like Brussels. Migration exerts a profound influence on urban identity and colors everyday life in neighborhoods. The public living room offers a space for meeting, exchange and interaction. Local neighborhood residents and entrepreneurs act as co-author/producer of the public living room.
