Opening of the personal records of Leo Tindemans, former member of the European Parliament.

The project includes the opening and the scientific appraisal of the personal records of Leo Tindemans that concerns his mandate as a member of the European Parliament (1979-1981; 1989-1999). His records will be analysted, structured and described in the archival system ScopeArchiv, in combination with the contextual autority-database ISAD(G) and ISAAR (CPF). The historical importance of the statesman Tindemans as a member of EP can hardly be overestimated. His records offer substantial information on the evolution of the European idea, the European integration process, the growth of the Political Union, the contacts between European leaders etc.
