Fast diagnosis of opportunistic respiratory infections trough exhaled breath analysis

We want to use the use of exhaled air as a fast screening test in detecting viral, fungal and bacterial respiratory infections in immunocompromised patients. This innovative, non-invasive, cheap and fast screening test should allow unnecessary therapy to be stopped and appropriate therapy to be started early in anticipation of more final testing, which may result in better health outcomes due to the rapid start-up of targeted therapy and less side effects and lower costs by avoiding excessive antimicrobial therapy.
