Efficient model based design parameter exploration and optimization in mechatronics (EMODO)

This strategic basic research project aims to transform the current design tools and workflow deployed in the mechatronic industry into an efficient framework for multi-disciplinary systemlevel design parameter space exploration and optimization. In mechatronic design, as in many other industries, each new design has to exhibit an ever improved performance, along with a reduced involvement of resources, both during the design process as well as during the operational lifetime of the envisaged products, machines and processes. This results into a complex constrained multi-objective optimization problem.
