Optimizing body characteristics and movement quality in volleyball players in order to reduce injuries

Injury prevention research frequently is based on observations in student populations, non-elite populations, but rarely in elite athletes. Recruitment of large samples is frequently demanded for publications. The current project focuses on investigating body and movement specific characteristics in elite volleyball players in order to optimise advice with regard to training in order to reduce injuries. 2D and 3D movement analysis techniques, postural balance tests, antropometric measurements, strength measurements and clinical observations are used. Injury history and incidence will be documented.
