Fine tuning of Synthetic Pathways through Conditional Expression for the production of biochemicals (CondEx) (FWOAL663)

The transfer of multi-gene or poorly understood heterologous pathways into the production host leads to imbalances due to the lack of adequate regulatory mechanisms. Hence, fine tuning the expression of these synthesis pathways in specific conditions is mandatory for the successful production. This proposal aims to fill the technological and knowledge gap by providing tools and parts (insulators, stationary phase constitutive promoter library) to the metabolic engineering community, which are generic in nature and have a broad application potential.
