Organisation profile:

BIMA (Centre of BIoMAthematics)deals with mathematics, applied to: 1. Genetical, anthropological and (socio)biological models; 2. Economics (for instance chaos theory and the (im)possibility to use chaos theory on the stock market). The Centre of Biomathematics consists of 3 members with the following main points of interest: Head: Prof. Dr. R. Corluy: sociobiology, physical anthropology, distance and cluster analysis in anthropology and genetics, races and racism, animal rights. Assistants: - Mr. John Taffin: datamining algorithms, genetical algorithms, bond-graphs; - Mr. Ard Van Moer: philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, the influence of the formalisation of mathematics on the mind-body problem.
