Project

Seeing is believing: unraveling inflammation in autoimmune diabetes by non-invasive imaging.

In this project, we will validate the specificity and sensitivity of newly developed agents for the in vivo quantification of insulitis in animal models of TD1, which will contribute to understand the role of immune responses in the onset and treatment of diabetes. The results may improve new treatment approaches, contribute to contrast agent chemistry and result in novel diagnostic approaches to assess treatment in T1D.
