A history of historical demography in Belgium

Book Contribution - Chapter

Belgium's unique population history and the ready availability of exceptionally rich source material have placed it at the cutting edge of developments in historical demography, and attracted scholars from around the world since the 1950s. The aim of this chapter is to take into account recent methodological adaptations as well as thematic shifts in the field, thus providing a complete synopsis of Belgian historical demography that will allow for comparisons with developments elsewhere.
