Project

Metabolic adaptation of myocardium under passive stretch in the zone remote of a myocardial infarction.

Remodeling of the heart after myocardial infarction is a major cause of heart failure. In the areas remote of the myocardial infarction, perfusion is normal yet metabolic alterations can occur. We study in this project the nature and underlying mechanisms of such metabolic alterations and examine the possible link to passive stretch.
