Manufactories and artisanal activities at Sagalassos (1st-7st C. AD).

The project provides further support to the ongoing research into the contribution of the artisanal sector to the ancient socio-economy of Sagalassos. The newly planned excavations in the local Potters' Suarter, along with the completion of a PhD (external funding) on the glass artefacts found at Sagalassos, will aid to enhance the existing tradition of research. The main aim of the original fieldwork is to investigate in which way the contribution of the artisanal sector, which was attested in the mean time, varied through time and possibly between the different types of craft activity.
