Project

Study of the interaction of fluid flow, heat transfer and combustion at the determination of the flammability limits and the auto-ignition temperature of combustible gases in air at elevated pressures and temperatures.

The following aspects will be researched: (1) Near the flammability limits: the influence of the initial temperature and the initial pressure on the flow field ahead of the flame, on the laminair burning velocity and on the flame stretch; (2) Near the auto-ignition temperature: the influence of the initial pressure and the mixture composition on the flow field that arises in the test vessel. These aspects will be studied both experimentally and numerically.
