History of 'ACV-metaal' (c. 1890-presnt).

The project entails the making of a historical-academic research report about the history of the metalworkers union ACV-Metaal (c. 1890-present). The study envisages a global view of the union in a historical perspective, from the late 19th century up to today. Several highly diverse perspectives will be developed: the origins of the main departments and the federation, structural developments of the Belgian Metalworkers Christian Central Organization (CCMB), relations between the local and regional departments and the federation, the role of notable board members and militants, the evolutions of associations, means of action and protest, service and so forth.
