Project

The role of parasitism and immunogenetic adaptation in the speciation of Lake Tanganyika cichlids (Africa).

One of the by-products of natural selection is reproductive isolation. The project focuses on the role of parasitism and immunogenetic adaptation in speciation of two sympatric species of Tanganyika cichlids: Tropheus moorii and Variabilichromis moorii, showing extreme and no chromatic differentiation, respectively.
