Linguistic aspects of Flemish Sign Language – a further exploration

Linguistic research on Flemish Sign Language started around 1990, however, Flemish Sign Language still is one of the underdescribed signed languages. More research is most important, for example to support teaching activities related to Flemish Sign Language. Signed language research has both societal and scientific relevance, the study of signed languages complements the study of spoken languages and as such forms an important part of the field of General Linguistics.
