Direct action of male hormones on the musculoskeletal system: study in cell-specific AR knockout models.

The gender differences of the musculoskeletal system are well known, but the underlying molecular mechanisms that lead to these differences remain largely unknown. This project aims to study how androgens act on the muscle-bone unit. The AR gene will be inactivated in muscle as well as in different types of bone cells of mice.
