This research addresses not only the agriculture industry but the rural area as a whole, integrating the complex physical, economic and social contexts. We study the assessment and impact of spatial transformations, understanding and mapping of regional development processes, governance of rural development, and the organization and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes.

The research team focuses on the analysis of the economics of transition, with a special emphasis on empirical testing of theory using micro economic databases. The latter include firm level data collected by means of large scale business survey data.
