Laboratory for RNA Cancer Biology KU Leuven
Laboratory for RNA Cancer Biology is a division of the Department of Oncology that fosters synergy in innovative oncological research. By creating a close link between bed and bench and by capitalizing on advanced technologies, our researchers aim to unravel key molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of cancer and to maximize opportunities to translate these findings into better clinical biomarkers, adaptive ...
Laboratory for Human Evolutionary Genetics KU Leuven
Our research group is interested in human evolution and evolutionary population genetics in the broadest sense. We work on questions relating global genetic population structure with evolutionary processes such as selection, drift, migrations and admixture. We use evidence from modern and ancient genomes to study genetic changes taking place over time and space.
Zoology: Biodiversity and Toxicology Hasselt University
Invertebrates, and especially freeliving flatworms (Platyhelminthes) are the subject of several research topics:
1. Biodiversity (incl. cryptic biodiversity)
2. Phylogeny and phylogeography based on morphological and molecular markers
3. Effects of pollution (especially heavy metals) on several aspects of the biology of turbellaria: regeneration and stem cell dynamics, life history-parameters, morphology,...
4. Study of ...
