The main objective of the Education and Training Research Group is to carry out fundamental and applied research in the broad field of education, with particular emphasis on teacher education, subject didactics, education and adult education. The most important applications are located in the secondary and higher schools and the centers for adult education.

The research group Education and Training consists of four divisions:

• Instructional Psychology and Technology
• Experiental Education
• Educational Policy and Innovation and Teacher Training
• Educational Effectiveness and Evaluation

The research group Education, Culture and Society consists of the following two divisions:

• History of Education
• Education and Society
